500 | grams | tofu, cut into 1-inch tiles |
1/2 | cup | vegetable oil for frying |
6 | cloves | garlic, minced |
1 | tablespoon | ginger, minced |
1 | piece | small onion, chopped |
2 | pieces | green finger chili, seeded and sliced |
3 | pieces | Red Chili |
1/4 | cup | Water |
1 | packet | NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream |
1 | sachet | MAGGI® Magic Sarap® |
1/4 | teaspoon | freshly ground pepper |
2 | tablespoons | Mayonnaise |
1 | piece | Red onion, chopped |
3 | pieces | calamansi, sliced open |
Step 1 | Fry tofu in preheated oil until golden brown. Transfer on a cooling rack to drain excess oil. Cut into ½-inch cubes and set aside. (15 mins) |
Step 2 | Remove oil from the pan, leaving 2 tbsp. Sauté garlic until light golden brown. Strain and set aside for topping. (3 mins) |
Step 3 | Add ginger, onion, finger chili and red chili in the same pan. Pour water and NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream. Bring to a gentle simmer. Season with MAGGI® Magic Sarap® and pepper. (5 mins) |
Step 4 | Stir in fried tofu and cook for 2 minutes. Turn off heat and mix in mayonnaise and red onion. (5 mins) |
Step 5 | Transfer on a serving plate. Top with toasted garlic and serve with calamansi. (2 mins) |
