Step 1 | Pre- heat oven to 320F. (2 mins) |
Step 2 | Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. (2 mins) |
Step 3 | In a separate bowl, mix egg yolks, corn syrup, NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, water and vegetable oil until well combined. (3 mins) |
Step 4 | Stir in wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix well until smooth. (2 mins) |
Step 5 | Whisk egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually whisk in sugar and whip until stiff peaks. (10 mins) |
Step 6 | Grease an 8-inch cake pan with butter and line with parchment paper. Pour cake batter on the pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle of the cake. (35 mins) |
Step 7 | Remove cake from the oven and set aside to cool down completely. (1 hr) |
Step 8 | Whisk butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream and powdered sugar. Whisk until light and fluffy. (10 mins) |
Step 9 | Remove cake from the pan. Cut cake into 2 pieces crosswise. Spread filling and frosting evenly to assemble the cake. Refrigerate overnight before serving. (10 mins) |
