1 | cup | chopped Walnuts |
1/2 | cup | Brown sugar, tightly packed |
1/2 | teaspoon | Cinnamon Powder |
1/2 | cup | White sugar |
2 | tablespoons | Water |
2 | tablespoons | Butter |
2 1/2 | packets | NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream |
1/2 | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | cup | Caramel sauce (option: store bought caramel sauce) |
For Stewed Apples | |
---|---|
Step 1 | In a saute pan, melt butter. |
Step 2 | Add apples, walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon powder. |
Step 3 | Cook for 8-10 minutes or until apples are tender. Transfer to a bowl and set aside. |
For Caramel Sauce | |

Step 4 | In a saucepan, add white sugar and water. |
Step 5 | Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to medium high and continue cooking sugar until amber colored, about 5-7 minutes. |
Step 6 | Add butter and NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream and whisk to combine. Add salt and stir to combine. Set aside to cool. |
For Caramel Mousse | |
---|---|
Step 7 | Beat chilled NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream in a bowl until soft peaks form and cream is light and fluffy. Gently fold in caramel sauce. |
To assemble | |
---|---|
Step 8 | In individual glass bowls or one big trifle bowl layer butter cake (store bought) caramel mousse, stewed apples, and walnuts |
Step 9 | Top with remaining caramel sauce. |
